Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology is seeking a Staff Research Associate I to join its preclinical imaging research team. In this role, you will support innovative biomedical research by performing small-animal imaging procedures using PET, CT, SPECT, MRI, and optical imaging technologies, conducting ex vivo sample analyses, and independently managing data collection and analysis. The position also plays a key role in maintaining laboratory operations through inventory management and procurement of research supplies, while providing imaging and safety training to new users. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advanced imaging technologies in a collaborative, research-focused environment.

Hourly range: $28.69-$34.21


Job Qualifications

Required

  • Basic understanding of biology and animal physiology.
  • Basic knowledge of research lab safety and regulations.
  • Organized and detail-oriented; maintains up-to-date, accurate and organized schedules and records on a timely basis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, postdocs, and students about basic imaging theory, techniques and protocols.
  • Ability to multi-task to meet deadlines.
  • Experienced in working with small animals.
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot scheduling conflicts, etc.
  • Skilled at writing reports and working with spreadsheets, databases, and email.
  • Ability to follow directions and to both work independently and to work well with a team when needed
  • Knowledge of Radiation Safety requirements.
