Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Semel Institute is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Staff Research Assistant to support innovative clinical research initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful studies while gaining experience across research design, data analysis, and project coordination.

Key responsibilities include supporting the implementation of research protocols, conducting literature reviews, and preparing study materials. The incumbent will collaborate closely with clinical staff and trainees, serving as a key liaison with the research team. Additional responsibilities include contributing to manuscript development, supporting study design using large real-world clinical datasets, managing data, coordinating projects, and assisting with IRB submissions and county contract databases.

This position is ideal for candidates who are highly organized, collaborative, and eager to grow in a fast-paced academic research environment.

Hourly range: $28.69-$34.21


Job Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Ability to perform tasks in an efficient, well-organized and timely manner with minimal level of supervision
  • Skill in setting priorities, follow through on assigned tasks and adhering to deadlines
  • Skill in working independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to present research data
  • Experience in research
  • Excellent management skills
  • Knowledge about IRB proposals
  • Graduate (Master Degree) or Doctorate
