This position will provide a range of clinical and counseling services to college students and provide expertise, programming, and training in their coordinated area. The role includes involvement with our doctoral internship and externship training programs including serving as a clinical supervisor and providing training seminars.We are a strong, vibrant Center that values diversity, and we seek to provide a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment for all. We seek a psychologist who, in addition to having strong clinical skills and interest in providing training and a range of clinical services, will provide an innovative vision and administrative leadership in a coordinated area of expertise. Applicants with strong cultural competence, expertise and experience working in a university counseling center setting will be given extra consideration.Clinical Approach: Our center utilizes a flexible care/same-day model designed to provide timely access to mental health services for students. Clinicians provide a blend of brief interventions, same-day consultations, crisis support, and ongoing care as clinically appropriate, requiring flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and comfort working in a fast-paced college counseling environment that differs from traditional outpatient psychotherapy settings. In addition to providing direct clinical services, clinicians actively engage with campus partners, participate in outreach and prevention efforts, and contribute to creating a culture of wellbeing that supports students' academic success, personal growth, and sense of belonging.

Responsibilities and Duties

Psychological Services: Clinicians provide psychological services to students and consultation to faculty and staff on both a regular and emergency basis, and when necessary, during non-traditional hours, including, but not limited to crisis-intervention, assessment, counseling, treatment, and clinical consultation in individual and group formats. Provide clinical consultation to students, families, and the campus in support of their mental health. Collaborate in Counseling Center efforts to provide services in new and creative ways while adhering to agency standards regarding case management, documentation, and parameters of service.(Optional) Participation in Coordinated Area(s): Provides leadership in a designated area of coordination, including developing and implementing appropriate policies and procedures in the coordinated area, tracking utilization, evaluating programs and services, and serving as a psychoeducational and clinical resource to Counseling Center staff and to the campus; develops collaborations and liaisons as appropriate in the coordinated area on campus; if applicable, supervises graduate assistants, and develops and maintains peer educator programs within the coordinated area; maintains current standards, appropriate accreditations and program licensure for the coordinated area; contributes as requested to the overall leadership of the Counseling Center.Training & Clinical Supervision: Contribute to the training of doctoral interns and externs by conducting seminars and other training activities. When assigned, supervises doctoral interns, externs and/or unlicensed staff members in their provision of psychological services, in professional development, and in support of the Counseling Center training program.Outreach and Consultation: Provides outreach programming as assigned, including psychoeducation, health-education, and consultation in the Counseling Center Outreach Program, and assisting with recorded and online forms of programs and applications, including self-help resources, and Counseling Center web pages.Center Operations and Administrative Participation: Engages in administrative functions that support the efficient operation of the Counseling Center. This includes attending and participating in monthly staff meetings, engaging in administrative supervision, and contributing to agency planning, policy development, and staff coordination efforts as appropriate; maintains awareness of and adheres to agency procedures and operational protocols, ensuring alignment with the Center's mission and goals.Student Affairs and University-Wide Participation: Participates in the Student Affairs Division and the University mission in a variety of ways, such as collaborating with other departments on campus, attending university functions, and serving on task forces and committees as assigned.Additional duties as assigned.Telework may be available for this position up to two days per week following the completion of 90 days of service in good standing.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications:Doctorate degree in Psychology.Full licensure as a Psychologist in Maryland or license eligible. A Full licensure as a Psychologist in Maryland is required prior to the end of the first two years in the position. One year of experience delivering direct clinical or counseling services in an outpatient, behavioral health or related setting.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a college or University Counseling Center.Demonstrated training and experience in psychological assessment.Proficient in Point and Click or ability to learn and utilize system.

Salary and Benefits Targeted hiring range is $80,000 and full university benefits that include 22 days of annual leave, up to 17 holidays, personal and sick days; excellent health, life, and retirement plans; and tuition remission.
