Essential Job Duties

We're looking for a Staff Product Manager to make BambooHR the easiest HR platform to build on. You'll own the public developer surface end to end: the APIs, the SDKs, the developer portal, the documentation bar, and the connectors that put BambooHR inside the AI tools and marketplaces our customers already work in.

You'll serve three customers on one roadmap: partners, our customers' own developers, and AI agents. The partnerships organization owns the relationships and the commercial terms. This role decides what exists for them to sell, and partner-sourced revenue is now a company-level commitment.

This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports. You'll set the patterns the product managers building partner integrations work within, and you'll be the product voice in API and protocol decisions alongside senior engineers and architects.

You will:

• Own the integration-category roadmap the partnerships organization sells against, making the build, co-build, or aggregate call for each one. Every committed category maps to something that exists, is dated, or was declined on the record.
• Co-own category-level revenue assumptions with the VP of Partnerships. When partnerships commits to a number, you're accountable for the product plan underneath it.
• Own the public API and SDK roadmap: what gets exposed, in what order, and to what standard, so partners can build without custom engineering support.
• Run the developer portal as a product: self-service registration, authentication, app management, packaged integration patterns, and documentation good enough that nobody has to file a ticket.
• Own BambooHR's presence in AI assistant ecosystems and marketplaces, including connector strategy built on open protocols such as MCP, the vendor submission and review relationships, and how AI agents act against the platform safely.
• Carry launch readiness through third-party marketplace and app-review processes, treating external approval timelines as shipping commitments.
• Set the API-first bar with internal product teams and own the review path new public capabilities go through, so they ship with public-grade contracts.
• Work with security and identity teams on the authorization model for third parties and agents. What a partner or an AI assistant may see and do is a product decision you help make.
• Guide the product managers building partner integrations, set the co-build patterns they work within, and arbitrate when partner demand and platform standards conflict.
• Measure the ecosystem like a product: developer adoption, time to first integration, coverage of the categories partners ask for most, and the revenue they influence.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

• You feel aligned with the BambooHR values
• 8+ years in product management on developer platforms, public APIs, or partner ecosystems, including a role where partner-sourced revenue was a company-level commitment.
• Experience making and defending build-versus-partner-versus-aggregate economics calls.
• You can hold a roadmap accountable to a revenue plan you share with a commercial organization that owns the relationships and the sellers.
• Technical depth in API design and authentication patterns. You can read a spec, challenge an endpoint design, and make principled calls on versioning, scoping, and deprecation.
• Comfort building on open protocols that change quarterly, where you're expected to become the company's expert on them.
• You treat developers as customers. Documentation, onboarding, and support experience are product surfaces you own.
• Proven ability to set standards and drive alignment across many teams without direct authority.
• Enough credibility with senior engineers and architects to drive API and protocol decisions on your own.
• Clear, direct communication with both technical and commercial audiences, up to and including executive review.
• You identify the next constraint and move toward it without waiting for direction.
• AI is already woven through how you work, not sprinkled on top of it. You use it to prototype more than you could before and to pressure-test your own thinking.

What Will Make Us REALLY Love You

• Experience with AI agent protocols and assistant ecosystems such as MCP, or shipping connectors into third-party marketplaces.
• Partner or marketplace ecosystem product management in a SaaS environment where partnerships carried a material share of revenue.
• Familiarity with fine-grained authorization models for third-party and machine access.
• Experience mentoring product managers as a senior individual contributor.
