Accountabilities:

• Lead the architectural design and evolution of scalable backend systems using Go and distributed systems best practices.
• Develop and maintain reliable usage-based billing and metering solutions that ensure accurate event tracking and revenue operations.
• Build integrations between internal platforms, payment providers, cloud marketplaces, and reporting systems.
• Drive technical strategy for backend infrastructure focused on reliability, maintainability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Establish and promote engineering standards related to code quality, testing, observability, and system design.
• Proactively identify technical risks, reliability concerns, and performance bottlenecks before they impact operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with product and customer requirements.
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance, architecture reviews, and knowledge sharing initiatives.
• Contribute to observability improvements and OpenTelemetry-driven monitoring practices across engineering workflows.
• Optimize internal tooling, billing transparency, forecasting capabilities, and customer-facing cost visibility solutions.
• Participate in roadmap discussions and help translate business objectives into scalable engineering solutions.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience designing and scaling distributed backend systems using Go.
• Strong understanding of billing systems, metering infrastructure, or usage-based pricing models.
• Experience integrating with payment providers such as Stripe or similar financial platforms is highly desirable.
• Solid background in backend architecture, API design, reliability engineering, and scalable infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Java and multi-language backend ecosystems is considered a plus.
• Strong expertise in observability practices, monitoring systems, and OpenTelemetry concepts.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and applying strong technical judgment to production code.
• Deep understanding of testing methodologies and data accuracy requirements in financial or billing environments.
• Strong product mindset with the ability to balance technical constraints and user experience.
• Proven leadership and mentorship experience in high-performing engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in distributed remote environments.
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts and drive alignment across teams and stakeholders.
