Job Description

We are seeking a Staff NPI Product Engineer to provide technical leadership for new products from early characterization through stable production ramp. This role is designed for senior technical contributors who operate with broad scope, influence cross functional, cross site teams, and set the technical direction for product quality, yield and manufacturing readiness.  ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-End NPI Leadership 
  • Own and drive technical strategy and execution for NPI projects from early characterization through stable production ramp.
  • Define and strategize NPI best practices, technical review check points, and readiness criteria across multiple projects.
  • Own key technical decisions and trade-offs impacting yield, cost, and time to market.
  • Drive NPI milestones with strong sense of urgency to meet schedule, quality, and yield targets.
  • Capture and fan out lessons learnt to Improve future NPI execution and release into production.
  • Provide technical mentorship and coaching to junior engineers, raising overall team capability and execution quality.
Advanced Data Analytics & Insights 
  • Lead deep data analysis to ensure test stability, yield consistency, and overall product quality.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights to drive engineering and leadership decisions.
  • Perform structured data analysis and root cause investigations on yield loss and test anomalies, driving data backed decisions.
Production & Final Test Readiness 
  • Lead NPI bring-up activities, including temperature and voltage characterization, and full product validation.
  • Validate test strategies including bench testing and ATE correlation, ensuring robust test coverage, long term stability, and scalability for high volume manufacturing.
  • Define production readiness criteria, control plans, and ramp guardrails for stable transition into mass manufacturing.
  • Ensure test yield entitlement is achieved before release to sustaining engineering team.
  • Drive test program maturity through practical test limits setting, long term test stability, and coverage optimization.
Quality & Structural Improvement 
  • Drive permanent, structural corrective actions and validate effectiveness through data.
  • Establish a strong quality mindset in NPI test limit setting, and NPI lot disposition decisions.
  • Strengthen revision control, qualification strategies and change management to prevent quality escapes during NPI.
  • Proactive identify systemic risks and influence design, test, or process changes early in development.
Product transfer and Production Support
  • Ensure complete, accurate documentation and archival of all NPI deliverables.
  • Lead effective handover to sustaining engineering team, ensure clarity of ownership and risk.
  • Provide technical guidance and escalation support during mass production as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in Product Engineering or Test Engineering or Yield Engineering, or NPI.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Bench testing, ATE platforms and advanced data analytics.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-site problem-solving through technical influence.
  • Comfortable making decisions under uncertainty during NPI and ramp phases.
