Examples of duties
This position provides primary medical care to assigned patients and supports hospital operations through accurate diagnosis, responsible treatment, and dependable coverage. The role requires thorough clinical knowledge and steady collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other professional staff. As a Staff Physician 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Patient Supervision: Oversee primary medical care for assigned patients and coordinate treatment with clinical staff
- Clinical Evaluation: Interpret laboratory reports, confirm clinical findings, and determine diagnoses
- Diagnostic Review: Order and review medical studies before making referrals to specialists
- Daily Prioritization: Assess and prioritize patient examination and observation across various hospital units
- Coverage Support: Provide lunch time coverage on a rotation basis and assist with hospital-wide coverage during off hours
- Treatment Decisions: Make individual care and referral decisions for patients

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience and/or training in the practice of medicine.
Special Requirements:
- You must possess a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Medicine Board, or
- the State Osteopathic Medicine Board.

- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require medical examination and a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
