Job Description

As a Pediatrician, you bring this compassion into every interaction. In this outpatient role, you lend your expertise in patient care, consultation, teaching, and administrative responsibilities, embodying Legacy’s mission of making life better for others.

As a Staff Pediatrician, you will be a valued member of the medical staff at Legacy Clinics or Legacy Emanuel Children’s Hospital. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care, offer consultation to advanced practice providers, and contribute to teaching and administrative efforts that support clinical excellence. Responsibilities

Medical care of pediatric patients:

  • Provides direct medical care in a multidisciplinary model of care for pediatric patients/members of the Legacy Clinics or Legacy Emanuel Children’s Hospital.
  • Collaborates and consults with physicians, mid-level providers, clinical resource coordinators and other staff in developing care management strategies and plans.

Teaching, supervision and consultation:

  • Provides consultative and medical support for the Legacy Clinics Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, residents and medical students as needed.
  • May serve as faculty preceptor for Pediatric, Family Practice and other resident physicians in the clinic setting.
  • May participate regularly in the teaching and supervision of medical students and residents.

Program administration:

  • Collaborates with Medical Director, Administration, other physicians and staff in program development, CQI and operational problem solving.
  • Attends and participates actively in meetings, performance evaluations and other activities related to the pediatric programs of the Legacy Clinics or Legacy Emanuel Children’s Hospital.

Qualifications

Graduate of a four-year accredited U.S. Medical school or the equivalent.

Licensure

  • Board eligible/certified in Pediatrics.
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the applicable state.
  • Active member in good standing of Legacy Portland Hospitals’ medical staff.
  • BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
