Staff Nurse - Stead Family Children's Hospital Pediatric Specialty Clinic-Gastroenterology 80-100% -(26001146)

Sign-on incentive: Qualified candidates with a minimum of two years of experience are eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $10,000

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a Staff Nurse to perform specific tasks to assist members of the Nursing team in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager. This RN will be working closely with the Ped GI division while in the clinic and office area. They provide support to our physicians/patients and families by completing care coordination for admissions and LL2 procedures, triage calls, and My chart messages. This RN will provide education to our clinic and SFCH GI population as needed.

Percent of Time: 80-100%
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 0830 - 1700
Location: John Pappajohn Pavilion (JPP)
Rotations: No holidays, no weekends, no call
Salary: $60,000 minimum at 100% effort to commensurate. Salary will vary based on years of experience and percent of effort.

Qualifications

Education Required

  • An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required

Experience Required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions
  • General computer skills are required
  • Ability to communicate complicated information to children and their parents
  • Proven ability to problem solve
  • Proven ability to integrate into a team
  • 1 year of RN experience required
  • 1 year of pediatric nursing experience required
  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire
