This position is primarily responsible for providing acute patient care in a safe and effective manner in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, providing phase I recovery. Additional responsibilities include assessment of patients, planning and implementation of care/interventions, providing education to patients/family, documentation and evaluation of the plan of care, implementing physician orders and directing non licensed employee’s activities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: See License and Certifications.
Experience: One year acute care experience in Critical Care or Perianesthesia required. In lieu of this experience consideration will be made for staff with strong education and associated experiential background.
Knowledge and Skills Able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing. Able to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment; effectively managing, prioritizing and delegating patient care and completing work assignments and other duties, as assigned. Demonstrate knowledge of common disease process, treatment modalities and interventions. Have above average computer skills.
License and Certifications Current active California Registered Nurse license required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) PALS required.
Equipment: Computers, monitors, printer, fax, photocopier, pneumatic tube system, Omnicell, telephone, IV pump, PCA pump, Invasive/noninvasive monitors.
Physical Requirements Must be able to perform the essential physical job requirements.
PAY RANGE
$47.90 - $71.84
The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change. Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills. For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
