Mother Baby Care Unit:
The Mother Baby Care Unit on 6JPP is a 17-bed unit dedicated to the care of antepartum and postpartum obstetrical patients. Antepartum patients may require hospitalization for preterm labor, diabetes, high blood pressure, or bleeding concerns among other conditions and are monitored closely using external fetal monitoring. Postpartum patients reside here during their recovery from vaginal or Cesarean deliveries. Parents and newborns are cared for together and may receive a variety of support services such as lactation visits, circumcisions, social work consults, medical imaging, and hearing testing. Electronic infant security is utilized and nutritional support for the unit is received by the Mother's Milk Bank of Iowa.
Characteristic Duties of our Staff Nurses include but are not limited to:
Percent of Time 60%
Schedule: Evening M-F 1500-2300, no weekends, holidays as assigned
Location: UI Health Care Main Campus
Salary: $54,000 (at 90% effort) to commensurate *this does not include inpatient or shift differential
Pay Differentials: Shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Premium pay for additional shifts greater than 4 hours. Inpatient differentials up to $5,000 per year
