Staff Nurse - Hemodialysis Inpatient Unit (50%-100%)-(26001644)

** Sign-on incentive: Qualified candidates are eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $12,500**

University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 50%-100% Staff Nurse to work at the Hemodialysis Inpatient Unit.

Duties to include:

  • Providing hemodialysis and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy to patients with acute kidney disease.

  • Responsible for direct patient care in the renal replacement suite

  • Provide appropriate treatment for assigned patients as developed by the interdisciplinary team.

  • Deliver safe and effective care to adult acute renal patients using critical thinking and collaboration.

  • Accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record.

Percent of Time 50%-100% 20 hours a week up to 40 hours a week
Schedule: Mon-Sat, rotating 10 hour shifts with variable start times. Working 2 out of every 4 Saturdays. On call responsibilities
Salary: $61,183 minimum at 100% effort to commensurate. Salary will be based on years of experience and percent effort
Location: University Campus

Qualifications

Education

  • An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required
Required Qualifications
  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
  • General computer skills are required.
Desired Qualifications
  • If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desirable.
  • Previous RN Dialysis and IV cannulation experience is desired.
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures is desired.
  • 1 year recent medical/surgical RN experience
