The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Staff Nurse (RN) to join our Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)—a state-of-the-art observation unit serving adults and adolescents experiencing psychiatric crisis.
The CSU is a 17-patient observation unit designed to provide immediate, therapeutic intervention for individuals in psychiatric crisis. The unit features an open-concept milieu with a large central space equipped with comfortable reclining chairs rather than traditional hospital beds. Individual therapy rooms are located adjacent to the central living area to promote timely, patient-centered care.
The environment includes homelike amenities such as TVs, music, and web access, creating a calming and supportive setting that promotes stabilization and recovery.
The Staff Nurse (RN) for the Crisis Stabilization Unit assesses patients' nursing care needs, evaluates effectiveness of care provided, and integrates nursing theory and research into clinical practice.
