  Complete comprehensive assessments and develop, implement, maintain, and regularly review individualised care plans in response to residents’ changing needs.

  Monitor residents’ physical, psychological, social, and emotional wellbeing, promptly identifying, documenting, and escalating any changes or concerns.

  Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with prescriptions, NMBI standards, and company policies, and carry out clinical procedures within your scope of professional practice.

• 
  Maintain accurate, timely, confidential, and compliant clinical documentation, including assessments, care plans, medication records, observations, interventions, and shift handovers.

• 
  Coordinate and facilitate GP, allied health professional, and multidisciplinary reviews where required, ensuring appropriate follow-up and continuity of care.

• 
  Establish positive and professional relationships with residents, relatives, colleagues, Healthcare Assistants, junior staff, and other healthcare professionals, providing appropriate guidance and support.

• 
  Comply with HIQA standards, NMBI professional requirements, infection prevention and control measures, GDPR, health and safety procedures, safeguarding requirements, and all relevant company policies.

• 
  Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, care planning meetings, training, supervision, and continuing professional development to maintain high standards of practice.

• 
  Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment by reporting incidents, risks, hazards, safeguarding concerns, and equipment issues promptly, while undertaking other reasonable duties assigned by the Director of Nursing or management.

Requirements

• 
  Recognised nursing qualification with current NMBI registration as a Registered General Nurse and eligibility to practise in Ireland.

• 
  Previous experience in nursing home, older persons’ care, rehabilitation, community care, or a similar healthcare setting is desirable.

• 
  Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, organisational, and time-management skills.

• 
  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• 
  Compassionate, respectful, and person-centred approach, with a genuine interest in supporting older people and residents with dementia or complex care needs.

• 
  Good knowledge of relevant nursing standards, legislation, HIQA requirements, and nursing home regulations.

• 
  Previous supervisory or leadership experience and additional relevant clinical qualifications or training would be advantageous.
