We are Hiring

Staff Nurse

to lead a Nursing Home in Kildare, Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, effective, and person-centred nursing care tailored to each resident’s individual needs, promoting dignity, independence, choice, privacy, and quality of life.


  • Complete comprehensive assessments and develop, implement, maintain, and regularly review individualised care plans in response to residents’ changing needs.


  • Monitor residents’ physical, psychological, social, and emotional wellbeing, promptly identifying, documenting, and escalating any changes or concerns.


  • Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with prescriptions, NMBI standards, and company policies, and carry out clinical procedures within your scope of professional practice.


  • Maintain accurate, timely, confidential, and compliant clinical documentation, including assessments, care plans, medication records, observations, interventions, and shift handovers.


  • Coordinate and facilitate GP, allied health professional, and multidisciplinary reviews where required, ensuring appropriate follow-up and continuity of care.


  • Establish positive and professional relationships with residents, relatives, colleagues, Healthcare Assistants, junior staff, and other healthcare professionals, providing appropriate guidance and support.


  • Comply with HIQA standards, NMBI professional requirements, infection prevention and control measures, GDPR, health and safety procedures, safeguarding requirements, and all relevant company policies.


  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, care planning meetings, training, supervision, and continuing professional development to maintain high standards of practice.


  • Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment by reporting incidents, risks, hazards, safeguarding concerns, and equipment issues promptly, while undertaking other reasonable duties assigned by the Director of Nursing or management.


Requirements


  • Recognised nursing qualification with current NMBI registration as a Registered General Nurse and eligibility to practise in Ireland.


  • Previous experience in nursing home, older persons’ care, rehabilitation, community care, or a similar healthcare setting is desirable.


  • Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, organisational, and time-management skills.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.


  • Compassionate, respectful, and person-centred approach, with a genuine interest in supporting older people and residents with dementia or complex care needs.


  • Good knowledge of relevant nursing standards, legislation, HIQA requirements, and nursing home regulations.


  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience and additional relevant clinical qualifications or training would be advantageous.
