Job Description

Risk Operations sits at the center of how Intuit protects our customers and our platform from fraud, account takeover, money laundering, and identity risk. Within this organization, the AML Operations team owns the day to day execution of Anti-Money Laundering Level 1 review, investigation support, and case handling across QuickBooks' regulated financial products and services.

This role sits in Risk Operations, partnering closely with the AML Compliance Office, which designs and owns the AML program itself: KYC/CIP, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring standards, SAR requirements, and regulatory exam readiness. This role leads the team that lives inside that program every day. Operations is the customer of what Compliance builds, and this role owns making sure that program runs at scale with speed, consistency, and accountability.

We are looking for a Staff Manager, AML Operations to own the operational engine behind AML compliance. This role is a blend of strategic design and tactical execution: shaping how the operating model evolves as the business grows, while staying close enough to the daily work to keep queue health, speed, and consistency strong every single day. It's the role that makes sure the policies our Compliance partners set are delivered with excellence, and that Quality's four eye review has exactly what it needs to move fast.

You will report into Risk Operations leadership and partner closely with the AML Compliance Office, Analytics, Workforce Management, and our offshore delivery partners to run a high performing, well governed AML operation. You will also help shape the ongoing build out of our KPI framework, bringing Decision Quality, First Touch Resolution, and AHT rigor to the AML queue the same way we have across the rest of Risk Ops.

Responsibilities

A note on scope, so there is no ambiguity on what this role owns versus partners on:

  • Quality is owned by the Quality team. Every AML file goes through a four eye review, and this role's job is to make that review fast and low friction, giving Quality the context and documentation they need to check the work quickly and protect team capacity.

  • Staffing and capacity planning are owned by Workforce Management. This role partners with WFM on the operational inputs that make the schedule accurate, like speed to proficiency curves, planned time off, and known volume patterns.

  • AML Compliance owns the AML program itself: SOP, policy, KYC/CIP standards, sanctions screening requirements, and SAR criteria. This role owns leading the team that operates inside that program every day. A generic, step by step desktop procedure cannot cover every real case, so this role owns the training and judgment coaching that closes the gap between the written procedure and the case in front of the analyst.

  • This role leads through metrics, coaching, and process, driving outcomes at the performance and system level.

Core ownership;

  • Own frontline training and judgment coaching against the SOPs AML Compliance sets, closing the gap between a generic, step by step desktop procedure and the real cases it cannot fully anticipate.

  • Own the AML KPI scorecard in partnership with Analytics, including Decision Quality,AHT, and use it to drive real, trackable improvement quarter over quarter.

  • Partner with the Quality team to reduce friction in the four eye review process, providing the context and documentation Quality needs for a fast, accurate second check without duplicating the work.

  • Partner with Workforce Management on staffing and capacity planning for the AML queue, feeding in speed to proficiency curves, planned time off, and known volume patterns, so the schedule holds up before it breaks.

  • Serve as the operational voice for AML in cross functional forums, representing Risk Ops with clarity and confidence alongside Compliance, Legal, and Product stakeholders.

  • Keep operational documentation and evidence audit ready at all times, supporting audit and regulatory exam readiness.

  • Identify and remove friction in the AML operating model, using data and frontline feedback to simplify processes and raise the bar on both speed and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field.

  • CAMS or other AML certification preferred, or willingness to obtain within the first year.

  • 5+ years of operations or people leadership experience, with direct exposure to AML, fraud, or financial crimes preferred.

  • Experience working with product, engineering, or compliance teams in a technology or financial services company.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working in workforce management, QA, and analytics tooling.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast paced, high volume operating environment.
