Staff - Level III (Energy Engineer)

Job Summary and Description:

Duties: Conduct techno-economic analysis modeling to estimate energy consumption and emissions for various natural gas to hydrogen transition scenarios in end-use equipment. Automate data collection from over 150 sources and develop time series forecasting models for residential HVAC equipment, predicting future sales trends for the next 5 years. Create and deliver training materials for calculator tools, including cost comparison calculators for food service and landscape equipment, and supported electrification knowledge base training sessions. Develop data connections and visualizations using Tableau for industrial sector end-use model results and create visualizations for project deliverables. Develop frameworks and source code for cost and emission comparison calculators, perform technical potential assessments for non-road equipment, and initiate the software quality assurance (SQA) process for deploying web- based calculator tools using Python-DASH.

May telecommute from anywhere in the US.

Requirements: Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, or related field, and 12 months of experience in the job offered or in an energy analyst-related occupation.

Employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, or related field, and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in an energy analyst-related occupation.

Experience must include:

  1. Techno-economic modeling using Matlab, Python, SQL, and Excel scripting;
  2. Data analytics, GUI development, and visualization using Python tools, Tableau, and web development interfaces.
  3. Conduct technical searches and web-scraping in support of research proposals and projects.
  4. Technical Writing - Experience creating and maintaining clear, structured documentation using Word or equivalent tools, applying appropriate language and standards, version control, basic diagramming and customizing technical topics to the reader.
  5. 1 year of experience in the Energy/Utilities or Environmental Industries performing data collection and analysis.

The salary range for this position is $82,118 USD to $134,550 USD annually.

This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.
