As a Staff Network Systems Engineer on the Network Operations & Infrastructure team, you will be a senior technical leader responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing reliability of Gigamon’s global network. You will support engineering, corporate, and lab environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and resiliency across offices, labs, data centers, and co-location facilities. In this role, you will own complex projects and critical incident response while driving modernization and standardization of network practices. You will collaborate closely with security, cloud, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable connectivity that underpins Gigamon’s business and product development.
Design, implement, and support multi-site enterprise network infrastructure across offices, labs, data centers, and co-location environments.
Maintain high availability, performance, and stability of network services supporting engineering, corporate, and lab environments.
Lead delivery of complex network projects, including new site buildouts, lab infrastructure upgrades, co-location and data center changes, and infrastructure decommissioning.
Serve as a senior escalation resource for network operations, outages, performance issues, and complex troubleshooting, including incident restoration, root cause communication, and follow-through.
Engineer and maintain secure connectivity services including firewalls, remote access VPN, site-to-site VPN, and related network security controls.
Support network services for cloud and hybrid environments, including DNS, VLAN, VPC, and public cloud connectivity requirements.
Drive proactive monitoring, alerting, and service health visibility using operational monitoring platforms and performance data.
Perform capacity planning and recommend improvements that increase resiliency, reduce operational friction, and support evolving infrastructure needs.
Lead network deployment activities for new facilities, lab expansions, and infrastructure refreshes, including architecture input, hardware planning, rack and wiring coordination, and implementation oversight.
Partner with security and compliance stakeholders to align infrastructure changes with risk, policy, and audit requirements.
Establish, document, and promote network standards, operational discipline, and best practices across the team.
Provide technical leadership for network modernization initiatives spanning routing, switching, wireless, firewall, VPN, DNS, VLAN, SD-WAN, and cloud networking domains, including oversight of implementation quality and vendor engagement.
Acquired a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in network engineering, network systems engineering, or network operations in an enterprise environment.
Developed strong hands-on expertise with routing, switching, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, wireless, and network troubleshooting.
Supported global or multi-site network environments spanning offices, labs, data centers, or co-location facilities.
Utilized network monitoring and operational tools to detect, triage, and resolve service issues in high-impact environments.
Led infrastructure implementations, upgrades, or lifecycle projects from planning through operational handoff.
Communicated clearly and effectively during incidents, coordinating across teams and driving issues to closure.
(Preferred) Gained 7+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or infrastructure operations.
(Preferred) Worked with Palo Alto firewalls, GlobalProtect, and modern network security practices.
(Preferred) Worked with Cisco enterprise networking platforms, including routing, switching, and wireless technologies.
(Preferred) Gained familiarity with AWS, Azure, VPC networking, and hybrid cloud connectivity models.
(Preferred) Supported engineering lab environments or infrastructure that underpins product development and validation workflows.
(Preferred) Earned relevant certifications such as CCNP, Palo Alto certifications, or comparable networking/security credentials.
A technically strong, hands-on engineer who is comfortable owning critical network issues end-to-end.
Operationally mature, with a strong focus on reliability, resiliency, and continuous improvement in production environments.
