Coupang Play is an OTT video streaming service. We offer a wide range of content, including Original Series, TV Shows, Movies, and Sports.

We are in the business of delivering exceptional storytelling. We produce award-winning scripted and unscripted Original Series, such as “Boyhood”, “Anna”, and “SNL Korea”. We believe Sports can also be elevated by creative storytelling. Play is now an authoritative destination for Sports, broadcasting K-League, La Liga, Bundesliga, F1, NFL, and other leading leagues and tournaments. We also offer some of the latest movies that were just released in local theaters, bringing more exceptional storytelling to our Customers.

To ensure that we deliver all content seamlessly, we invest in Engineering, Product, and Design. Coupang Play is available on all mobile devices, tablets, PC, Smart TV, Apple TV, and Android TV. Our teams keep optimizing how Customers discover and stream both VOD and Live content. That includes investments in frontend, backend, and infrastructural developments. We also embrace Machine Learning to refine our CX.

The Coupang Play CX (Customer Experience) Frontend Engineering team designs and improves intuitive and seamless web experiences so that customers can easily and enjoyably consume content. Across multiple platforms—including PC web, SmartTV, and mobile webview—they technically optimize every touchpoint of the customer journey to deliver the best possible streaming experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance new features across customer experience domains such as Content Discovery, User Growth & Identity, and Sports
• Develop and maintain multi-platform web frontends using Next.js (PC web), Solid.js (SmartTV web apps), and mobile app webviews
• Optimize SSR performance, improve Core Web Vitals, and design/implement server-driven UI architectures
• Design feature experiments using A/B testing platforms and support data-driven decision-making
• Design reusable components and shared modules/libraries
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend/mobile engineering teams

Basic Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in frontend engineering or related fields
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with TypeScript and React
• Experience building and optimizing web applications using SSR frameworks such as Next.js
• Experience implementing responsive/adaptive web design and ensuring cross-browser compatibility
• Ability to interpret UI/UX design principles and apply design systems to actual UI implementation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing web applications for SmartTV platforms such as LG webOS and Samsung Tizen
• Experience integrating A/B testing or experimentation platforms
• Experience working on large-scale, high-traffic services such as OTT, media, or e-commerce
• Experience designing and implementing server-driven UI or data-driven rendering systems
• Experience writing unit and E2E tests using tools such as Jest and Cypress
