We are looking for a Lead Staff Firmware Developer to own and drive embedded firmware architecture for rechargeable hearing aid accessories. The role involves developing and maintaining high-quality firmware, guiding junior developers, and driving continuous product improvements while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Own and lead embedded firmware architecture for the rechargeable portfolio of hearing aid accessories and maintaining it
Develop, support, and implement embedded firmware by translating approved designs into high-quality code aligned with requirements and architectural standards
Translate requirements into detailed design documentation and high-quality, maintainable code, ensuring traceability and compliance
Contribute to peer reviews and continuous integration activities to maintain the system's performance and reliability
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, promoting good practices in embedded systems development
Drive continuous improvement of existing products, including bug fixing, feature enhancements, and updates, while coordinating ECR/ECN activities with cross-functional stakeholders.
5-10 years of experience designing and developing embedded firmware architecture for hardware, ideally in portable, low-power devices
Experience in communicating with hardware and developing embedded firmware for system bring-up
Expertise in multi-threaded embedded programming using C, C++, Python, with good object-oriented programming (OOP) skills and experience in debugging real-time systems
Skilled in implementing, testing, and verifying firmware features, including unit tests for functional correctness
Contributed to peer code reviews, continuous integration, and ongoing firmware quality and performance improvements
Proficiency in wireless protocols (e.g., Bluetooth), wireless power transfer technologies (e.g., Qi charging), and Internet of Things (IoT) related experiences is advantageous.
