ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Owning of the mechanical failure analysis process and equipment.
  • Documentation of all observations and conclusions through images, teardown analysis and possible cause of failure.
  • Discussing the FA findings and communicating the next course of analysis.
  • Developing techniques and procedures to simplify day-to-day functioning.
  • General housekeeping, including maintenance logs and calibration schedule for all lab equipment.

Qualifications

Must demonstrate relevant experience, interest and aptitude in areas mentioned below:

  • Basic knowledge of hard disk drive and head/disk interface.
    • Will be a bonus if the candidate is familiar with head/disk manufacturing and factory drive test processes.
  • Excellent at muti-tasking various jobs, is self-motivated and confident.
  • Hands on individual that enjoys spending time in the lab and perform analysis using high power microscopes and other precision equipment’s.
  • Possess strong written, verbal, interpersonal and teamworking skills.
  • Ability to interact across all levels of the organization.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Disk handling tools, metrology instruments, and hand tools.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Familiar with analytical techniques such as: Raman, FTIR, SEM and TOF-SIMS.
  • Familiar with electrical FA methodology and interpretation of findings.
  • Data analytical skills.

EDUCATION:

  • BS in ME, EE , Physics, or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in the hard disk drive or related industry.
