
Work Flexibility: Onsite
Design and implement automation solutions for new automated production equipment, including customized fixtures and tooling.
Develop equipment specifications and deploy automated equipment aligned to the site’s automation roadmap (mechanization, data automation, and digital shop-floor tools).
Monitor existing automated processes and implement improvements to increase capacity, reduce scrap/reject rates, and enhance line safety using data-driven methods.
Execute equipment and process validations and document results through technical protocols and formal reports.
Perform failure analyses on automated production equipment (e.g., fault tree analysis, failure mode and effects analysis) and drive corrective actions to restore and improve performance.
Create and maintain operating procedures, standard work, and visual work instructions for automated equipment and process changes.
Train production teams on new automation and updates to existing equipment, and advance-train maintenance technicians and engineers who service automated systems.
Coordinate project execution by leading periodic design/project reviews, supporting capital expenditure requests, and managing supplier interactions and bidding activities with machine shops/equipment vendors.
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related).
Minimum 5 years of related experience in manufacturing engineering and/or industrial automation.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (business communication).
Hands-on experience developing and deploying process mechanization/automation in regulated or quality-controlled manufacturing environments.
Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and wiring blueprints/schematics.
Experience with computer-aided design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER or equivalent).Intermediate programming capability with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and SQL.
Experience writing and executing equipment and process validations and using structured failure analysis methods (e.g., fault tree analysis, FMEA).
Preferred
Experience applying Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods.
Experience using a project management tool (e.g., Microsoft Project or equivalent).
Travel Percentage: 10%
