Your Team, Your Impact

The Switch Software Quality Assurance Team is responsible for validating the Marvell switch platform, ensuring functionality, performance, and reliability across multiple SDK and NOS solutions.

What You Can Expect

  • Develop test strategies for the product features.
  • Develop test processes and ensure the processes are followed.
  • Be on top of developments in the storage technology and implement state of the art testing techniques and methodologies.
  • Develop test cases according to test strategy.
  • Review test results and bug reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Execute test cases and document test results in qTest.
  • Develop test automation using Python.
  • Measure and improve the code coverage through test improvement.
  • Report bugs in Jira with thorough documentation, test logs and traces.
  • Develop test scripts for testing firmware on simulation platform.
  • Understand protocols and firmware design to develop effective test cases.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and test plans.

What We're Looking For

Technical Expertise - Switching and Networking

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields and 3-5 years of related professional experience.
  • Strong understanding of switch Layers (L1-L4) networking
  • Experience with Ethernet switching architectures, packet forwarding, and network ASIC pipelines.

Software and Test Frameworks

  • Proficiency in Python for test automation (Pytest, Robot Framework, etc.).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub CI, or similar) and test automation integration.
  • Familiarity with traffic generation tools (IXIA, Spirent, TRex, Scapy).
  • Knowledge of Linux environments, shell scripting, and low-level debugging.
  • Experience with source control (Git) and issue tracking systems (Jira, etc.).
  • Experience with switch SDKs (low-level deriver)
  • SAI (Switch Abstraction Interface) - advantage
  • Exposure to hardware abstraction layers and SDK-to-driver interactions.

QA and Testing Skills

  • Proven experience in test strategy, test plan design, and coverage analysis for SDK-level or embedded systems.
  • Expertise in functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
  • Familiarity with SDK API validation, packet verification, and traffic-based test automation.
  • Understanding of release qualification processes for network devices.
  • Strong cross-functional communication with development, validation, and release teams.

Strategic & Process-Oriented Skills

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to define and improve QA processes and standards.
  • Experience integrating QA into CI/CD workflows and continuous quality monitoring.
  • Understanding of test coverage analysis tools and defect trend analysis.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication - able to document test plans, results, and strategy clearly.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Comfortable working in cross-site / multi-timezone teams.

Advantage

  • Experience with SAI/SONiC
  • Understanding of network operating systems (e.g., SONiC or similar).
  • Familiarity with hardware validation labs and testbed management.
  • Exposure to hardware bring-up, firmware, or bootloader testing.
  • Prior experience working in semiconductor or network equipment vendors.
