Dewberry is seeking a Staff Engineer – Electrical Engineer with 2-4 years of experience to join our New York, NY office. This position is ideal for a motivated engineer that will support electrical design for commercial, industrial, institutional, and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead and Senior Electrical Engineers to develop schematic and construction drawings, assist with code analysis and cost estimates to meet project requirements.
  • Assist with electrical load calculations, short circuit, and voltage drop analyses for lighting and power distribution systems.
  • Develop one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and equipment schedules under the direction of senior engineers.
  • Perform code research and documentation for all applicable codes and standards
  • Coordinate electrical design requirements with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and structural disciplines.
  • Support preparation of technical specifications, narratives, and basis of design documentation
  • Review shop drawings, product submittals, and RFI’s, and assist with responses during construction
  • Electrical software experience in SKM Power Systems Analysis, AGI32, Revit, and AutoCAD,
  • Maintain organized project documentation in accordance with QAQC procedures and firm standards
  • Serve as the Electrical Project Engineer for small projects and coordinate work with all disciplines.
  • Attend meetings and prepare minutes of meetings.
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections of electrical systems.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree (Preferably passed EIT).
  • Applicants should have a minimum of 2+years direct experience in related electrical engineering design.
  • Proactive personality with solutions-based approach to problem solving.
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills (English language) and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Word and Excel (Microsoft Office) required.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is not required
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $76,913 - $98,888 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NY only.
