This role is a high-impact technical leadership position focused on shaping the architecture and evolution of large-scale, AI-powered learning systems. You will operate across the full stack, influencing both frontend experiences and backend services that power high-traffic, real-time applications. The position requires a strong engineering mindset with deep ownership of system design, performance, and scalability. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver intuitive and intelligent customer-facing experiences. A key part of the role involves embedding AI-native development practices into everyday engineering workflows to accelerate innovation. You will also mentor senior engineers, raise technical standards, and help define long-term architectural direction. Accountabilities:

  • Provide technical leadership across engineering squads, defining best practices for architecture, scalability, performance, and accessibility.
  • Lead system design and architectural decisions across frontend and backend systems, including frameworks, component structures, and distributed services.
  • Ensure high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code through code reviews, engineering standards, and hands-on development contributions.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into robust technical solutions and ensure timely delivery of features.
  • Drive engineering strategy by contributing innovative ideas that improve system performance and customer experience.
  • Solve complex technical challenges, optimize existing systems, and ensure reliability across high-scale applications.
  • Mentor and develop engineers, fostering technical growth and strengthening overall team capability.
  • Leverage AI-native tools to accelerate development, improve engineering workflows, and enhance product capabilities.
  • Requirements:

    • 10+ years of software engineering experience building and scaling complex, high-traffic, customer-facing applications.
    • Strong full-stack expertise, including JavaScript/TypeScript for frontend and Java, Go, or JavaScript for backend systems.
    • Proven experience in technical leadership roles, including mentoring senior engineers and driving engineering outcomes.
    • Strong experience with AWS-based cloud architecture and distributed system design.
    • Deep understanding of modern software engineering principles, design patterns, and scalable architecture practices.
    • Hands-on experience using AI-powered development tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Vercel, or similar) to improve productivity and delivery speed.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
    • Strong problem-solving mindset with experience building and optimizing large-scale systems.
