Job Description

St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Staff Educator for our Organizational Development and Learning Department (ODAL). Under the general supervision of the department leader or authorized designee, provides orientation, on-the-job training, and continuing education programs for all assigned units.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Graduate of an approved school of nursing, BSN. preferred. Maintains current license to practice nursing in the State of West Virginia.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of five (5) years as staff nurse.

SKILLS:

Evidence of skills in leadership, creativity, integrity, initiative, and communication; thorough knowledge of good nursing practice; ability to apply knowledge and express ideas both written and oral; ability to write objectives for all teaching programs; ability to relate well with co-workers, all levels of nursing staff, and medical staff; emotional stability, poise and self confidence; physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the job. Eligible for certification as instructor of required staff competencies.
