  • Support and contribute to hydrologic, hydraulic, and geomorphic analyses and modeling to inform design development
  • Develop surfaces and terrain models from high-resolution Point Cloud and conventional topographic survey data
  • Participate in field efforts, including site reconnaissance, topographic and bathymetric surveys, and data collection to inform design
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop restoration solutions in riverine, wetland, and estuarine environments
  • Provide construction-phase support, including responding to information requests, reviewing submittals, and conducting site visits
  • Communicate technical concepts and design intent clearly to clients, stakeholders, and project teams
  • Contribute to proposal development and technical documentation, supporting the continued growth of the Eco Engineering department

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Biological, Ecological Engineering, or related field
  • 5-7 years of applied design and drafting experience
  • Proficiency with AutoDesk Civil 3D and site grading design
  • Experience supporting the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through 100% design
  • Experience preparing construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Familiarity with geographic coordinate systems
  • Experience developing surfaces from point clouds and topographic survey data
  • Experience providing construction observation and support
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface effectively with clients and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to manage one’s time and work within a set scope, schedule, and budget

Additional Desired Experience:

  • Licensed California State professional civil engineer (or ability to obtain license via reciprocity) or an Engineer-in-Training status
  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, water resources, hydrology, or fluvial geomorphology (or similar)
  • Experience with aquatic habitat restoration design, including streams, rivers, floodplains, wetlands, estuaries, and salmonid habitat
  • Familiarity with open channel hydraulics and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., HEC-RAS or similar)
  • Understanding of geomorphic and sediment transport processes
  • Experience working in GIS and performing geographic transformations
  • Experience with field data collection, analysis, and technical reporting supporting engineering design

Salary Range:
