Job Description

Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely.

We are transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.

Summary:

We are currently seeking a new Staff Content Manager, France Materials to join our Content team. This role is remote and based in France.

What your team does:

Our Content team builds and maintains the legal content that powers Clio's platform. We cover case law, legislation, and key secondary sources across many markets. This work feeds Vincent AI and supports Clio's growth in each market we enter. We hold our content to a high bar, and we compete with the top legal publishers in every market we serve.

The Staff Content Manager, France Materials owns Clio's legal content portfolio in France. This covers case law, legislation, and key secondary sources. This collection backs Clio's legal-content moat and supports Vincent AI and Clio's growth in the French market.

This role treats French legal content as a product and an infrastructure layer, not a static library. You will own strategy, coverage parity, enrichment quality, and operational resilience across French materials. You will build a corpus that competes with LexisNexis France, Dalloz, and Lamy.

This role needs deep knowledge of French legal publishing. You will work across technical and editorial systems, and tie content decisions directly to product outcomes and revenue.

This is a Staff-level post. It carries wider scope, deeper technical ownership, and higher standards for judgment than the Senior version of this role.

What you'll work on:

  • Own the roadmap for Clio's French legal content, and set targets for completeness, update speed, enrichment depth, and reliability.
  • Match or beat LexisNexis France, Dalloz, and Lamy on coverage, currency, and quality.
  • Raise win rates, trust, and retention, and tie those gains to revenue from French content.
  • Map every gap in French case law (Cour de cassation, Conseil d'État) and legislation (Légifrance, Journal Officiel), then rank each gap by legal weight, customer demand, competitive risk, and cost to fix.
  • Lead build, buy, and license calls with Licensing, Legal, and Corporate Development, and pick the best cost-to-value outcome each time.
  • Run a ranked backlog with Content Ops and Engineering, and guide our move to Iceberg.
  • Build pipelines that Clio owns and that hold up under load, and cut brittle third-party links and manual steps.
  • Set standards for monitoring, fault tolerance, and recovery so Vincent and Clio Work stay online.
  • Work with French Editorial and Ops teams to raise the quality and structure of case law and legislative metadata, including citations, amendments, case summaries, and hierarchy.
  • Pair editorial review with AI tools, and improve how content gets found, used, and read by downstream AI tools.
  • Work with Finance and FP&A to size the impact of French content spend, and build dashboards for cost per document, ingestion speed, coverage parity, and enrichment reach.
  • Present roadmap progress, risk, and business impact to the Content Committee each quarter.
  • Compare Clio's French coverage against LexisNexis France, Dalloz, Lamy, and other regional providers, and track new AI and NLP methods for legal text work.
  • Build partnerships with courts, publishers, and open-data groups to cut long-term dependency risk and open new access points.
  • Train Product, Sales, Marketing, and Support teams on Clio's French content, and keep the internal French Legal Materials Reference Guide current.
  • Act as the go-to expert on enterprise deals that need deep knowledge of French legal content, and write up our strengths for Product Marketing and Sales Enablement.

What you may have:

  • 7 to 10 years in legal publishing, legal data work, or content and product management, with a record of owning a content portfolio from start to finish.
  • Deep knowledge of the French legal system and legal publishing market, including what counts as authority and currency there.
  • Direct experience working with French case law and legislation for legal research or practice platforms.
  • A record of setting strategy and owning results at a senior or staff level, not just running projects.
  • Strong product ownership, and the pull to lead across teams with no direct reports.
  • Prioritization built on real numbers and ROI math.
  • Technical comfort with ETL pipelines, ingestion systems, and metadata structures.
  • Clear talk with technical and non-technical people, including executives.
  • A record of setting standards that other teams follow.
  • A keen interest in improving your craft by using AI.

This is a new role.
