Job Description

The Staff Assistant for the Boston Centers for Youth and Families (BCYF) directs patrons, answers telephones, and provides scheduling, programs, and community resources information to the general public.

Responsibilities

  • Provides coverage.
  • Prepares office correspondence, vendor payments, program reports, and other related materials.
  • Creates, updates, and maintains filing system, personnel time, attendance, and bookkeeping materials.
  • Orders office, program, and facility supplies as required.
  • Schedules appointments.
  • Payroll preparations and distributions.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of administrative experience is required. Appropriate education may be substituted for the required experience on a prorated basis.
  • Working knowledge of computers: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to type 30 wpm.
  • Good verbal and written skills are preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-cultural, multi-ethnic work environments.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.

C.O.R.I. & S.O.R.I. check required.

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED
