The Requirements Engineer – Ready Connect is responsible for end-to-end ownership of system, hardware, mechanical, production, and software requirements across Ready Connect product lines. This role ensures structured requirements definition, traceability, governance, and release alignment across PRD, IRS, SRS, TRS, FFRD, and release artifacts using enterprise requirements management tools.

The role works closely with system engineering, hardware, software, production, mechanical, test, quality, and program teams to converge customer, regulatory, and internal specifications into a single source of truth, ensuring delivery readiness and compliance.

Your Team

As a Requirements Engineer, you will be part of the Ready Connect System Engineering organization and collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning production, HWQ, ME, Software, Validation, Certification, and Program Management across global locations.

What You Will Do

Requirements Engineering & Authoring

· Create, review, and maintain PRD, IRS, SRS, TRS, and domain-specific requirement specifications for Ready Connect products.

· Analyze customer, regulatory, and internal inputs and convert them into clear, testable, and traceable requirements.

· Own requirement baselines and version control across product releases.

Requirements Management & Traceability

· Maintain bidirectional traceability across PRD and IRS → SRS → TRS → Test → Release Notes.

· Ensure requirement status tracking (satisfied, implemented, verified) within DNG / RDNG and ALM tools.

· Support release mapping of requirements to specific product versions (e.g., RC 1.1Q, RC 1.1K etc).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Drive requirement convergence discussions with Production, HWQ, ME, Software, Test, and Program teams.

· Facilitate requirement review, approval, and closure meetings with stakeholders.

· Support RFQ, CR, and customer change impact analysis from a requirements perspective.

Governance, Compliance & Quality

· Ensure compliance with internal engineering governance, audits, and documentation standards.

· Support certification, compliance, and diagnostic requirements alignment.

· Enable test and validation teams with unambiguous, verifiable requirements.

Release & Readiness Support

· Support FFRD, SRS, and release readiness reviews.

· Ensure requirements are aligned with release milestones, M-Gates, and PSR expectations.

· Assist in migration and consolidation of requirements into common DNG spaces.

What You Need

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

· 5–10 years of experience in Requirements Engineering, System Engineering, or related roles.

· Hands-on experience with requirements management tools (DNG / DOORS / equivalent).

· Strong understanding of automotive or embedded systems development lifecycles.

· Experience working with cross-functional and global engineering teams.

· Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills

· Automotive or embedded systems domain exposure

· Excellent written and verbal communication

What is Nice to Have

· Exposure to automotive connectivity products (4G/5G, TCU, diagnostics).

· Familiarity with Automotive SPICE, Agile / SAFe, or ISO-based processes.

· Experience supporting audits, certifications, or customer reviews.
