Job Description

The Staff Application Operations Engineer will directly be reporting into the Global Director of ERP+ Operations transition management stream leader. This position will be the primary Oracle resource within the stream and will have activities across multiple Oracle systems. Focused initiatives will include transition, asset and process standardisation leveraging Lean principles and Agile project methodology to be successful. Collaboratively working across multiple global IT internal and external partner teams to ensure business and customer expectations are properly met and evolve as needed as part of the broader global ERP+ organisation. High focus on standardisation of processes and procedures across ERP+ Operations (including Oracle and SAP)

In this role, you will:

  • Primary Oracle lead professional within the Transition Management stream of ERP+ Operations stream.
  • Lead applicable Oracle transitions into ERP+ Operations team ensuring knowledge transfers, documentation and resources end to end have the necessary knowledge to be successful.
  • Proactively submit Kaizen opportunities focusing on day to day improvement activities within the Oracle ERP+ systems, but also not limiting to just Oracle.
  • Understand current processes and actively participate and potentially lead necessary workshops to standardise ERP+ Operational processes across multiple systems.
  • Take part in bubble assignments in the ERP+ Operations space ensuring a focus on meeting positive outcomes and benefits as defined.
  • Coaching and Cross training colleagues on Oracle basic principles, including but not limiting to creating necessary training documentation.
  • Participate within the necessary Change Control Board Review Processes as outlined by broader ERP+ organisation.
  • Ensure conformance to established systems architecture, and IT required standards and practices.
  • Work Closely with multiple teams and GE Stakeholders to ensure deliverables are coordinated and communicated effectively within a complex matrix organisation.
  • Adopt lean and standard work as part of daily culture
  • Participation as needed within the ERP Instance management activities.
  • Compliance and participation with all IT Audits as assigned by the ERP+ Operations transition leader.
  • Understanding and leveraging key ITIL process methodology to support day to day activities.
  • Provide necessary support for asset management activities to ensure security and compliance requirements are met.
  • Embraces a culture of customer focus and high performance to drive innovation through continuous customer engagement.
  • Ensure conformance to Operations standards / practices
  • Partner with stakeholders as assigned to prioritise and lead mandatory compliance, productivity, and business Lean initiatives.

    Education Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with advanced experience.
  • Strong Business analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to decompose problems and make decisions when problems or solutions are not 100% defined
  • Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers
  • Proactively engages with cross functional teams to resolve issues and design solutions using critical thinking, analytical skills and best practices
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to engage with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
  • Desired Characteristics Technical Expertise:

  • Operations or Implementation experience in Key modules of Oracle ERP in Accounts Receivables, Project Accounting, General Ledger, Purchasing, Inventory, Order Management.
  • Oracle, ITIL, SAP or other GE ERP Knowledge
  • Lean Methodology Experience
  • Familiar with elements of gathering requirements
  • Understand technical standards and concepts to apply to work
  • Interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities
  • Demonstrate Lean / Kaizen awareness and concepts
  • Leadership:

  • Coach and mentor team members.
  • Familiar with concepts of costing hardware and software components. Works to assure work is on-time and within budget
