THE ROLE

The Staff Accountant will assist the Director of Finance in executing all accounting functions. These functions will include but are not limited to establishingand maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures; overseeing the preparation and evaluation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial operating reports; and presenting findings and recommendations to Senior Management.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

  • Participate in month-end close activities including the preparation and review of journal entries and review of budget-to-actual reports.

  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed and serve as a resource on accounting matters.

  • Prepare and review monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts and ensure that general ledger accounts are reconciled with resolution to reconciling items

  • Work cross-functionally with other groups on a day-to-day operation of the business.

  • Reconcile general ledgers, post journal entries, and assist with the preparation of financial statements

  • AR, AP/Accruals,prepaids, revenuerecognition& varianceanalysis

  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and post eliminating journal entries

  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents. Verify and analyze business records, transactions, and procedures

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliation for assigned general ledger accounts and balance sheets

  • Prepare schedules for quarterly reviews and year-end audit for independent external auditors. Research issues, clarify information, and prepare supporting data.

  • Special projects, as assigned

  • Provides customer service to all internal employees and outside contacts.

  • Practice safe work habitsand complete company and venuesafetyand general compliancetraining

  • Maintain a pleasantand collaborativeattitude towards customers, co-workers, and management

  • Adheres to the LegendsGlobal and venuecompanypolicies

  • Complete otherdutiesassignedby management.

  • Available to work non-traditional hoursas needed(Nights, Weekends & Holidays)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA preferred

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Able todemonstrateflexibility and quickly adapt to changes

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Able tomaintaina high levelof confidentiality

  • Minimum2yearsaccounting experience.

  • Strong understanding ofIFRS/ASPE

  • Knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting

  • Must have advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Detail oriented and deadline driven with good analytical, organization, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work with all levels of management and associates.

  • Able to present financial data in a concise, logical, and useful manner

Education, preferred qualifications, and/or experience

  • A Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting or Finance 

  • 2-3 years of accounting experience is preferred 

  • Strong analytic and communication skills.

COMPENSATION

Competitive salaryof$63,000 to $70,000peryear, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, andRSP plan.
