Position: Staff Accountant

Work Type: Full Time, Remote

Working hours: 9am-5pm EST

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to support full-cycle accounting operations across multiple entities. This is a full-time remote position responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and ensuring the timely processing of accounting transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, excellent Excel skills, and a passion for improving efficiency through AI and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting activities across multiple entities.
• Process and maintain accounts payable transactions.
• Perform daily and monthly cash postings and reconciliations.
• Prepare and post payroll journal entries.
• Record accruals and other month-end journal entries.
• Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
• Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes through automation and technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience performing full-cycle accounting functions.
• Required experience with QuickBooks Online
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, and data analysis.
• Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
• Ability to manage multiple entities and prioritize competing deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated interest in utilizing AI tools and automation to improve accounting workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a multi-entity environment.
• Exposure to accounting process automation tools and technologies.
• Experience supporting remote teams and distributed organizations.
