Job Description

General ledger accounting professional to manage accounting duties and day-to-day accounts receivable, revenue and cash functions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Treasury functions which include but not limited to:
    • Prepare ad hoc bank transactions, customer payments/deposits, bank transfers, etc. based on bank statement information for each account
    • Review lockbox exceptions before bank deadline
    • Deposit checks
    • Initiate wires after proper approvals are received
  • Overseeing meetings and events revenues and expenses. This includes but not limited to:
    • Contract review, including initial signing and event order forms
    • Billing and invoicing the event customers
    • Ongoing communications with both internal events team and customers
    • Daily and month-end duties such as revenue recognition, depositing payments and subsequent application to account and expense and/or fee accruals
    • Review of aged balances and coordinating payments with the customers
  • Prepare journal entries and month end accruals
  • Maintain general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts
  • Work closely with multiple department leaders on their financial results
  • Perform accounting research and assist with analytical review of financial results and understand factors driving variances
  • Perform monthly balance sheet and account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
  • Monitoring and responding to internal departments and external customers via shared email inbox
  • Contributing to the development and review of process documentation and internal controls
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly
  • Follow proper internal audit guidelines
  • Prepare documentation and provide support for internal and external audits
  • Actively supports and contributes to the department’s commitment to diversity and inclusiveness
  • Other Ad Hoc requests from the business or finance leaders
  • Perform other duties as required

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • BS or BBA in accounting or finance required
  • CPA or CPA track not required, but highly preferred
  • Eighteen to twenty-four months experience in a similar role
  • Experience in US GAAP and SOX required
  • Customer service orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (primarily Excel)
  • Ability to prioritize and manage expectations
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others, in order to meet deadlines
