STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Hyatt Regency Deerfield is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the hotel’s daily accounting operations. This position helps maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, and provide timely reporting while working closely with hotel leadership and department managers.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts.
• Review daily hotel revenue reports and investigate discrepancies.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, billing, collections, and payment reconciliation.
• Reconcile cash deposits and assist with cash-handling controls.
• Review guest ledger, city ledger, and advance deposit balances.
• Assist with financial statements, account schedules, and management reports.
• Support payroll reconciliation and labor reporting as needed.
• Maintain organized accounting records and assist with audits.
• Follow established accounting procedures, internal controls, and company policies.
• Partner with department leaders to resolve accounting questions promptly.

What You Bring

• An associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
• At least 1–3 years of accounting experience; hotel or hospitality experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and general ledger processes.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort learning accounting systems.
• Experience with hotel property management or accounting systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Ability to meet deadlines, manage competing priorities, and handle confidential information.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position at Hyatt Regency Deerfield. Scheduling flexibility may be required during month-end close, audits, and other business needs.
