Ace is seeking a Full-Time Staff Accountant for its Headquarters’ in West Des Moines, Iowa. This position reports to the Assistant Controller. Ace thrives in a high-growth, fast-paced, can-do environment. To be successful in this role you must have a sense of urgency, be able to work in a deadline-oriented environment, be a highly organized self-starter and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and review invoices and requisitions for proper documentation and approval prior to payment
• Charge expenses to the appropriate accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices and expense reports
• Process and code utility invoices (electric, gas, water, telecom) for store and corporate locations, and research billing variances
• Record, allocate, and reconcile intercompany expenses between entities
• Assist with accruals and account reconciliations as part of the month-end close
• Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
• Complete credit applications requested by vendors to establish credit limits, verifying that all required information is accurate and providing supporting documentation as needed (e.g., sales tax exemption certificates for tax-exempt purchases)
• Assist in the annual audit by preparing assigned reports or providing documentation as directed by the Controller
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements of the Staff Accountant

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to solve problems effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience with accounting software such as Business Central, Sage Intacct, or Workday
