POSITION: Staff Accountant

DEPARTMENT: Accounting

REPORTS TO: Accounting Manager

FLSA STATUS: Salaried/Exempt

Summary

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Staff Accountant for Legends Global | Caesars Superdome | Smoothie King Center | Champions Square | Shrine on Airline. The staff accountant position works closely with the accounting, purchasing, and leadership team to provide accurate and timely financial reporting to the multiple entertainment venues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Processes and reconciles large volume accounts payable transactions

· Performs month-close duties: reconciliations of sub-legers and account analysis

· Assists accounting leadership with preparation of financial statements

· Reconciles cash receipts and disbursements

· Prepares and records journal entries

· Maintains fixed asset detail records

· Maintains and audits box office ticket sales reports

· Maintains and audits parking office reports

· Prepares settlement reporting for ticketed and private events

· All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Must successfully pass a criminal and credit background check

· Excellent understanding of intermediate financial accounting and the operational accounting process

· Proficient in using and learning new accounting software, efficient with spreadsheets, excellent math skills and a sharp attention to detail

· Excellent communication and organizational skills

· Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information

Education and/or Experience

· Bachelor’s in accounting or finance from a four-year college or university

· Entry-level accounting position, new graduates highly encouraged to apply

· GPA +3.5
