The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization's accounting and financial reporting functions through the accurate processing of financial transactions, account reconciliations, journal entries, tax filings, and audit support activities. This role partners closely with the Finance team and corporate stakeholders to ensure compliance with accounting policies, maintain the integrity of financial records, and support month-end and year-end close processes. Additionally, the Staff Accountant provides accounting and reporting support for Perkins & Will, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet financial reporting requirements and support operational and business objectives across both organizations.

This role is fully remote and supports the U.S. Central Time zone, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time, which corresponds to 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM Manila time.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain accounting files and records as assigned.
• Analyzes data and trends by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying information for accuracy.
• Prepares transactions (e.g. journal entries, cash disbursements) and account reconciliations.
• Ensures financial data is accurate and complete before processing in Deltek VantagePoint.
• Helps review and maintain accounting procedures, and recommends opportunities for change.
• Performs monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including Bank accounts.
• Meets all monthly, quarterly, and annual process and reporting deadlines.
• Proactively communicates potential issues to the Manager.
• Proactively initiates monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities.
• Participates in special projects, analysis, and ad-hoc tasks as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 1-3 years of experience in related field.
• Industry experience preferred (Engineering/Architecture).
• Required strong attention to detail, deadline-oriented, and excellent communication skills.
• Understanding of GAAP and FAR regulations.
• Deltek Vision or VantagePoint systems experience preferred.

• Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
