Pelican is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you'll support month-end close activities, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and operational analysis while partnering with teams across the organization. This position offers broad exposure to manufacturing finance, cost accounting, and business operations, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to expand their accounting expertise and contribute to a growing organization.
You'll work closely with Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, and leadership teams to deliver accurate financial information, improve processes, and support key business decisions.
• Help drive the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses that support accurate and timely reporting
• Investigate variances, identify trends, and provide insights that help improve financial performance and decision-making
• Support the preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and key management reporting
• Partner with Operations to support inventory cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliations, and inventory analysis
• Assist with cost analysis, budgeting initiatives, and financial support for new products, tooling, and operational investments
• Prepare audit schedules and work directly with internal and external auditors during quarterly and annual audits
• Support government reporting requirements and maintain accurate supporting documentation
• Manage vendor setup and maintenance activities while ensuring data integrity and process efficiency
• Build strong partnerships across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and other business functions to solve problems and improve processes
• Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, improve controls, and drive continuous improvement across the organization
• Take on special projects and additional responsibilities that support business growth and operational excellence
What We’re Looking For:
• BS Degree in Accounting, with a minimum of 1-4 years’ experience in general and cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Must have entry-level knowledge of Accounting principles and procedures.
• CPA candidate, “Big Four” experience and/or a mix of public and private experience a plus.
• Must have excellent analytical and organizational skills and be detail-oriented.
• Must have excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills
• Must be proficient with Excel; experience with SAP or large ERP system preferred

Compensation & Benefits:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The annual U.S. pay range for this position is listed below. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
