YOUR NEW ROLE

Indirect Tax Compliance

• Prepare and assist with sales and use tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
• Process and track tax payments across jurisdictions.
• Reconcile sales tax accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain documentation to support filings and audits.

Account Reconciliations & Financial Controls

• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations (cash, accruals, tax accounts, etc.).
• Investigate variances and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Support period-end close processes and ensure adherence to deadlines.
• Assist in maintaining strong internal controls and audit readiness.

Property & Franchise Tax Filings

• Coordinate and prepare property tax and franchise tax filings
• Track filing deadlines and ensure compliance across jurisdictions.
• Work with external advisors, where applicable, to support filings and documentation.

Corporate Tax Support

• Assist in the preparation of support schedules and documentation for corporate income tax returns (prepared by third-party advisors).
• Liaise with external tax providers to ensure timely submission of required data.
• Maintain supporting workpapers and audit trails.

Business Licenses & Regulatory Compliance

• Manage and track business license renewals across jurisdictions.
• Ensure timely submission of renewals and associated payments.
• Maintain a centralized tracker of license requirements and deadlines.

Process Improvement & Reporting

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and automate processes
• Support documentation of accounting procedures and process flows.
• Assist in preparing ad hoc financial reports and analysis for management.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting or corporate environment preferred).
• Exposure to multi-state or cross-border environments (US/Canada) is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP preferred)
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, D365, etc.) preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas).
• Familiarity with tax compliance tools or software is a plus.
