Job Description

We are hiring a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the recurring balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and proper timing; month-end financial close activities, including analyzing balance sheet accounts, calculating necessary journal entries including accruals, managing and providing SAP reports, calculation amortization of expenses. Also, other projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Journal entries posting and calculation
  • Maintenance and analysis of prepaid accounts and schedules ; preparation of journal entries prepaid amortization.
  • Maintenance and analysis of expense accrual schedules; preparation of journal entries to ensure proper timing recognition of expenses
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations using advanced Excel worksheets
  • Assist in intercompany transactions review and reconciliation
  • Fixed assets – Reconciling from fixed assets subledger to the general ledgers and recording depreciation
  • Assisting Accounting Manager and accounting team in month-end and year-end close process as required and performing any other related and special tasks assigned as needed.

Required Skills/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience required.
  • CPA or equivalent experience
  • Two to five years performing a similar function at a company with at least 100 employees or at least being part of accounting/AR/AP/GL
  • Experience using an ERP system, SAP required(at least 3 year of previous experience)
  • Must have good understanding of expense coding and purchase orders
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Accounting knowledge and understanding of Chart of Accounts is required.
  • Must have strong experience with Excel and Word. Understand the basic functions of a PC operating system so electronic files can be opened and saved in an organized manner.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with all departments in a professional manner.

Salary and Benefits:

  • For California, the base salary range for this position is $71,600 - $92,900. Compensation for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience, location, etc.).
