Riverside Research is looking for a Staff Accountant, under the direction of Senior Accounting Manager, will be a part of the accounting team and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP. This position will be supporting day-to-day accounting operations and assist with month-end close activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cash related transactions, including daily banking activity monitoring among multiple accounts
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, develop action plans and lead resolutions on accounts
  • Process weekly and semi-monthly payrolls
  • Set-up leave accruals for new hires
  • Assist with payroll tax compliance
  • Process weekly expense report payments
  • Manage timesheet compliance
  • Assist with AP and PO voucher entry
  • Help set up new vendors
  • Assist with expense report review and approval
  • Assist with monthly closing activities
  • Assist with audits
  • Support special accounting projects and process improvements as needed
  • Provide timely, professional support to employees and external agencies regarding payroll and AP inquiries
  • Partner closely with HR on payroll-related activities while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality, professionalism and integrity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting
  • 2-4 years’ work experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to research, analyze and resolve problems
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and prioritize
  • Good listening and communication skills
  • Willing to grow and take on additional responsibilities when needed and support other team members.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with Not-For-Profit or Government Accounting environments
  • Working knowledge of UKG payroll system or similar
  • Experience with ERP systems (CostPoint preferred)

Global Comp

$70,000 - $85,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
