Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant supports the accounting and finance department by maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring that transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with accounting standards. This role performs day-to-day corporate accounting functions supporting GL, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts and accounting records.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Prepare or assist with financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for management.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits and provide documentation as needed.
QualificationsJob
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 1-3 years of full cycle accounting experience (corporate or public accounting)
- Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
- Experience with accounting systems/ERP software and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks and successfully prioritize delivering results in the face of competing business interests
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong drive for results and continuous improvement
- Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Pay:
- $60,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience
