The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting department by ensuring the integrity of financial information through compliance with Company policies and procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Responsibilities include recording transactions relating to prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, leases, and financial reporting. This role contributes to maintaining accurate and timely accounting records and supports the preparation of financial and regulatory reports. Additional responsibilities include performing account reconciliations, assisting with financial analysis, and supporting the preparation of accounting statements and reports.

Job Responsibilities

  • Post data to various ledgers, registers, and record monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP
  • Compile and analyze financial records, including preparing monthly account reconciliations within established timeframes
  • Research and respond to financial inquiries from management
  • Assist in the preparation of schedules and documentation for the annual audit
  • Support documentation efforts related to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
  • Review, analyze, and reconcile assigned accounts
  • Perform basic financial analysis and provide insights to support financial decision-making
  • Provide support for internal and external audits, including preparing documentation and reports
  • Prepare and review financial reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with special projects and other related duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • One or more years of accounting or finance experience
  • Proficient in 10-key and alphanumeric data entry
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Customer service mindset with a focus on meeting internal stakeholder needs
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and quality results


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with accounting systems and ability to learn new software quickly


Physical Demands

  • Must possess ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion


Training

  • All job specific, safety, and compliance training are assigned based on the job functions associated with this employee
