The staff accountant performs and supports daily and monthly accounting operations. This role is responsible for general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and managing both accounts payable and receivable functions. This position requires high attention to detail, organizational skills, the ability to work in a multitasking environment, and strong computer literacy.
The role is remote, but a hybrid model is preferred for those based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare, post, and document journal entries in the general ledger.
· Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
· Reconcile balance sheet accounts and multiple bank/credit card accounts monthly.
· Manage accounts payable, including invoice verification, payment processing, and maintaining our AP automation system.
· Oversee accounts receivable and collections activities to ensure timely cash flow.
· Generate and manage customer invoicing through Salesforce and Sage.
· Collaborate with external auditors by providing necessary documentation and account details.
· Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Prior experience in a Staff Accountant role is preferred.
· Proficiency with Salesforce for invoicing and customer account management.
· Familiarity with Sage Intacct is a plus.
· Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent accounting experience
