Cascade AIDS Project is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant maintains the general ledger, prepares, and posts journal entries, prepares account reconciliations, records check and bank deposits, maintains the fixed asset ledger, and assists the Finance team in the preparation of audits and financial statements.
This is a Full-Time role working at our Davis St. location in the Old Town area of Portland, OR. The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm with an option of a hybrid
The starting pay for this position is $67,000- $72,000 a year depending on experience.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or a related field and two years of work experience, OR
Five years of experience working as a full-cycle accountant.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and FASB accounting standards.
Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
Strong accounting system experience, including posting journal entries and reconciling GL accounts.
Intermediate Excel skills (use of Pivot tables, XLOOKUP, etc.)
What You’ll Do
Maintains the General Ledger, prepares, and posts journal entries
Prepares account reconciliations.
Records check and bank deposits.
Maintains the fixed asset ledger.
Assists the Finance team in the preparation of audits and financial statements.
Cultivate and maintain professional relationships across a multicultural spectrum of organizations and professionals.

Founded in 1983 and incorporated in 1985 as the Cascade AIDS Project, CAP is the oldest and largest community-based provider of HIV services, housing, education and advocacy in Oregon and Southwest Washington. CAP has grown considerably since its beginning, from a two person staff to over 100, from a budget of $100,000 to over $14 million. CAP operates multiple programs from its main service sites in Portland, OR & Vancouver, WA with the support of over 600 volunteers.

Cascade AIDS Project helps people put their lives back together by securing housing, finding essential medical care, and dealing with the countless issues that make the difference between giving up or getting up and going on. With HIV and AIDS, the huge emotional and financial burden to all affected by it can be staggering.
