The Opportunity

ING Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank’s gateway to the professional markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING’s clients with products, services and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.

FM Data Management is responsible for designing, driving, and implementing a strategy, model and platform to ensure effective data management in Financial Markets. It is structured around primary and foundational capabilities. These capabilities ensure governance implementation, definitions, policies and processes, quality, organizational structure, data architecture & delivery, protection of personal data, security, and sustained awareness addressing FM managements requirements and targets.

Your role and working environment

As FM Data Management Expert you will use your knowledge from Financial Markets and data management to develop and develop and improve the data management capabilities for the global FM Data Domain and assist FM management with the implementation and embedding of the data management capabilities to ensure that FM data is managed according to standards.

FM Data Management is part of the CoE Regulatory within Financial Markets and is responsible for designing, driving, and implementing a strategy, model and platform to ensure effective data management. It is structured around primary and foundational capabilities. We work closely with the FM Tribe, FM front office and the WB Data Management and ING Group Data management organization.

Role and Responsibilities

As a FM Data Expert you will be responsible for:

  • Developing, implementing and embedding the data quality framework for FM by adapting the global framework, policies and standards
  • Defining requirements and specifications for new data quality controls and dashboards jointly with data users and data owners
  • Addressing complex DQ issues and regulatory findings through stakeholder management
  • Participating in strategic data quality initiatives
  • Building a culture of data craftmanship and quality improvement

  • You have excellent analytical skills and get energy from translating standards and policies into operating models and executable plans
  • You are involved in multiple projects at the same time involving different stakeholders and focus on achieving results

  • You are a good communicator, fluent in English (written and spoken) with strong stakeholder management skills

  • You easily adapt to a new environment

Your previous experience and skillset

  • Experience in Wholesale Banking and Financial Markets , preferably in a Customer Journey , IT feature engineering or Data oriented function
  • Project management experience
  • Integral, cross-domain knowledge and experience
  • Actively keep up your professional knowledge and translate external trends into applicable knowledge
