Job Category: ManagementThe YMCA is seeking an experienced Early Learning Center Director who is a mission-
driven leader responsible for the opening of a new facility in the fall of 2026 and the
daily operations, educational quality, and regulatory compliance of a licensed childcare
facility. They serve as the primary link between the YMCA’s mission and the families in
the community.
Core Responsibilities
Staff Leadership: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of educators. This includes
conducting performance evaluations and fostering a collaborative, professional culture.
Program & Curriculum: Oversee the implementation of developmentally appropriate
curriculum (e.g., Creative Curriculum) and ensure it meets high-quality standards of
Office of Child Care Regulations.
Operational Management: Manage the program budget, monitor enrollment trends,
and maintain facility standards.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure 100% adherence to state licensing regulations, health
and safety protocols, and YMCA child abuse prevention policies.
Family Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents through regular
communication, conducting center tours, and resolving concerns professionally.
Mission Advancement: Model the YMCA core values—Caring, Honesty, Respect,
Faith and Responsibility—and participate in annual fundraising campaigns.
Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development,
or a related field is typically required.
Experience: Usually requires 3–5 years of experience in early childhood education,
with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Certifications: Most roles require CPR/First Aid/AED and specific state-mandated
training (e.g., Mandated Reporter) within 30 days of hire.
Age Requirement: Candidates must typically be at least 21 years old per licensing
requirements.
