The Data Governance Manager will support the launch of the SSC Data Office by driving the hands-on execution of the Data Owner use cases. This role will map current data usage, document definitions, identify critical data elements, support data quality assessment, maintain governance documentation, and coordinate remediation actions across business, operations, IT, EDP, and Data Delivery teams.

The role is highly execution-focused and will ensure that the governance framework becomes practical, documented, and usable in daily operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Map current data usage across SSC teams, business functions, reporting teams, and operational users.
  • Document source systems, data flows, reports, dashboards, manual files, transformations, and downstream consumers.
  • Capture and maintain business definitions, including variations across ERPs, regions, workstreams, and functions.
  • Develop and maintain a data usage catalog for governance use cases.
  • Partner with Data Owners, Data Stewards, Global Process Owners (GPOs), Operations SMEs, IT, and Data Delivery teams to identify and document Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
  • Maintain business glossaries, metadata, ownership documentation, and governance artifacts.
  • Coordinate data profiling activities and support data quality assessments.
  • Track and document data quality issues related to completeness, validity, consistency, duplication, timeliness, and ownership.
  • Maintain issue logs, remediation backlogs, action trackers, and data quality scorecards.
  • Coordinate governance meetings, workshops, and stewardship forums by preparing agendas, documentation, decision logs, and follow-up actions.
  • Facilitate stakeholder collaboration to ensure governance decisions are documented and executed.
  • Support Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) onboarding by documenting data availability, identifying business requirements, and helping prioritize new data onboarding initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Data Delivery teams to support semantic models, certified datasets, and data product readiness.
  • Maintain governance templates, standards, and documentation related to data ownership, stewardship, quality rules, issue management, and change impact assessments.
  • Ensure proposed changes to data definitions, datasets, or semantic models include documented business impact assessments and governance approval.
  • Support compliance with enterprise data governance, privacy, security, and data management standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ yearsin data governance, data analysis, business analysis, process improvement, SSC operations, finance operations, or reporting
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in data governance, data analysis, business analysis, process improvement, Shared Services operations, finance operations, or reporting.
  • Good understanding of one or more Shared Services workstreams, including Procure-to-Pay (PTP), Order-to-Cash (OTC), Record-to-Report (RTR), or Customer Care.
  • Ability to document complex data flows, business definitions, business rules, and stakeholder dependencies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and data profiling or reporting tools.
  • Ability to work effectively with business users, Operations SMEs, IT teams, Data Delivery teams, and analytics partners.
  • Experience managing governance documentation, action logs, issue trackers, workshops, and remediation activities.
  • Practical understanding of ERP data, Enterprise Data Platforms (EDP), semantic models, or master data management is preferred.
