  • Develop and deliver finished Class A models in Alias or ICEM Surf with minimal supervision.
  • Interpret design intent from rough sketches, mesh scan data, section data, and engineering surfaces.
  • Create surfaces that comply with engineering requirements, including draft angles, minimum radii, part thickness, and gap specifications.
  • Ensure closure of volumes with exceptional surface quality and adherence to constraints.
  • Review and implement changes required for Class A release to support part production.
  • Utilize digital tools and best practices to deliver accurate surface data efficiently.
  • Produce renderings and visualizations for design and management reviews.
  • Collaborate on digital model assembly for prototyping and feasibility studies.
  • Manage data exchange and delivery to downstream departments, assisting with data transfer and development.
  • Actively participate in the product development process, ensuring alignment with project milestones.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute tasks independently or collaboratively to meet deadlines.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Digital Modelling, Product Design, Transportation Design, or Mechanical Engineering.


Technical Expertise:

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Alias with ability to deliver high-quality surfaces quickly.
  • Knowledge of ICEM Surf, UG NX, CATIA, Blender, Maya, and other 3D modeling tools is a plus.
  • Experience in Poly modeling.


Visualization & Rendering:

  • Automotive virtual prototyping using VRED (gap analysis, clipping).
  • Rendering experience with Blender, VRED, and KeyShot.
  • Post-production and sketching skills in Photoshop.


Additional Tools:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe InDesign.


Design Sensitivity:

  • Strong understanding of automotive surfacing with attention to proportion, surface quality, and detailing.
  • Ability to interpret functional and ergonomic requirements and translate them into precise surfaces.
  • Passion for latest trends in surfacing and ability to solve complex surface and interface challenges.


Personal Attributes:

  • Patience, self-driven, and ability to iterate designs to achieve perfection.
