CMF Development:
1. Develop and validate Color, Material, and Finish concepts for seating and interior components.
2. Support selection and approval of materials, grains, textures, stitching patterns, and surface finishes.
3. Ensure harmony and consistency of color, gloss, texture, and appearance across seating systems.
4. Work closely with styling and studio teams to translate design intent into manufacturable solutions.
5. Evaluate premium appearance quality and perceived quality expectations for interior trims and seat components.
Seating Product Development:
1. Support complete seat development activities including foam, trims, plastic parts, and seat assemblies.
2. Coordinate with seat design teams for integration of CMF requirements into product engineering.
3. Participate in seat concept reviews, mockups, prototype evaluations, and design validation activities.
4. Ensure compliance with OEM standards, safety requirements, comfort guidelines, and regulatory expectations.
Material & Finish Engineering:
1. Evaluate suitability of materials such as PU foam, fabric, leather, PVC, TPO, ABS, PP, and decorative trims.
2. Conduct material benchmarking and support innovation activities for premium interiors.
3. Support grain matching, texture development, color harmony, and finish validation activities.
4. Coordinate with suppliers for sample development, color matching, texture approval, and finish validation.
CAD & Engineering Coordination:
Work closely with CAD teams for Class-A/Class-B surface feasibility and manufacturability.
Review tooling feasibility, draft analysis, DFM, gap & flush, and surface quality requirements.
Support engineering release activities, BOM management, and drawing validation.
Quality & Manufacturing Support:
1. Participate in fit-finish evaluations, perceived quality reviews, and manufacturing audits.
2. Investigate appearance-related issues such as sink marks, gloss variation, wrinkles, mismatch, and texture inconsistency.
3. Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for CMF-related concerns during development and production stages.
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Seats CMF
1. Experience in automotive seating/interior systems
2. OEM/Tier-1 supplier exposure
3. Experience handling CMF activities for seat trims, foam, plastic components, and interior systems
4. Exposure to premium interior quality validation and appearance approval processes

B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Automotive / Polymer / Industrial Design or related field
